This is the first of three short rolls shot during the Lawrence Photo Alliance's December 2006 Group Show Gallery Opening.
To go for a retro-feel to the images I decided to use a restored Retina IIc range-finder camera with a "vintage" emulsion. Late model Retina's (1950's) have Xenotar single coated lenses that produce an image that is just a little bit soft. Zone focused most shots and many taken by holding camera above heads of “crowd”.
Lessons learned about the Foma 400 emulsion:
1) It really isn't 400 speed under artificial lighting, more like 250.
2) Doesn't like to be push processed 3 stops.
3) The anti-halation layer, ain't.
4) Does have a nifty 1930's grainy look.
Lesson learned about new darkroom setup
1) The water supply in the 66046 area has LOTS of disolved solids! The negatives need to be rewashed in distilled water!
